 Western Himalaya Mountaineering Centre (WHMC) is located at Manali in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh. It is one of the adventure sports centre in India, imparting training in different adventure sports activities like rock climbing, trekking, paragliding, skiing and water sports etc. The objective of WHMC is to organize and provide a base for adventure sports like mountaineering, skiing, and rock climbing at high altitudes. It also promotes and executes schemes for related adventure activities in Himalayan regions. WHMC organizes tours for all generations including students, individuals, families from India as well as from abroad. To cater all these activities, we have skilled and qualified instructors and staff that is dedicated to their work.
Located in the heart of the town near Rambagh, WHMC organizes basic & advance training courses, in different adventure sports. WHMC provide both theoretical and practical training to the trainees. The purpose is to create an attitude among them so that they view mountaineering as an art and not just a physical activity. WHMC also arranges special adventure courses to motivate and encourage them. The basic training provided by WHMC includes training of making them tough to increase their resistance to hunger and cold. We also train them to make themselves comfortable in new environment.
Advanced training of WHMC includes training in snow and ice, rock climbing, skills of river crossing and mountain rescue and camp setting and climbing peaks. Not only this, WHMC also teaches the trainee to use the latest climbing equipment for their convenience. The motive is to provide a unique experience of physical outdoor activities like rock climbing, canoeing, trekking etc. WHMC made special arrangements for foreign nationals, students, corporates, groups.
Special Training Program for School and College Students : WHMC offer Special Adventure Training for children and students. WHMC trains them for several adventure activities such as Rafting, Paragliding, Mountaineering, Trekking, Skiing etc. WHMC provide wide range of exciting adventurous courses to children that are exciting as well as unforgettable Adventure Tour. The training provided by WHMC give a chance to the children to explore the natural world.
